Lawrence Armarfio is Corporate Planner, a Management Consultant and a Procurement Specialist. He is 52 years old and holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Ghana and Master of Business Administration with Finance option from Henley Management College in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. He has also attended numerous courses in Procurement.
He has participated in the evaluation of technical proposal on behalf of the e Ghana Project Office at the Ministry of Communications for the award of consultancy assignments to local and foreign consultants.
He has also worked on Procurement Committees for over 20 years. These include the Procurement Committee of the State Enterprises Commission (SEC) and Ghana Post Company Limited.
He chaired the Procurement Committee of Ghana Post Company Limited within which period he facilitated the complete setting up and furnishing of the Management Information Systems Department. This involved sourcing for funding,, shortlisting of suppliers and eventual issue of Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) for supply of computers and accessories, furnishing and decoration of the Department etc.
He headed the Department until a substantive head was recruited. He also developed business plans for the raising of funds / application of loans from local banks for the purchase of Private Letter Box panels and mail vans in Canada and Japan respectively for the company.
As the former Head of Planning, who supervised the Estates Unit of Ghana Post, he supervised numerous tender processes for selection and appointment of contractors to construct post offices in various parts of Ghana.
As a consultant, he has prepared Procurement Plans for public and private organisations
He worked with Quayedjei Company Limited, a procurement firm prior to his appointment with Upgrade Consult. The firm’s portfolio spans computers, air conditioners, furnishings, etc. Its major clients include Barclays Bank, Ghana Commercial Bank, Ghana Telecom (currently Vodafone)t and Unibank plc among others.
Mr. Armarfio is married with two children.
